Mind Field

The new Alien Workshop video premiered Thursday night and I was pretty psyched for it. Jammed up to Melrose in LA, where Alien was holding a pre-party on the rooftop of the Burton store. The whole Alien crew was out and everyone was enjoying a couple of beers and Pinks hotdogs before the video. The video was showing at the same theatre Fully Flared premiered at, Royce Hall on UCLA’s campus. It’s a pretty classy establishment with a no drinks inside policy, ushers enforcing a no photo policy and other classy things like that. It’s a great place to watch a real quality vid, which everyone was there for. (Mind Field story continued below)

Mini ramps on the rooftop of the Burton store. A sunset sesh while the DJ provided the sounds
Mikey Taylor and the rest of the Alien fam enjoyin’ the eats before the night starts
 A perfect night…sunset atop Melrose
Alien chalk art
Royce Hall, UCLA Campus
And so it begins….had to sneak a photo inside the theatre
Floored by radical. Mind Field’s art direction is pretty sick, everything and more you’d expect from an Alien video
So here’s what we witnessed:
The ams literally killed it…Jake Johnson, Grant Taylor and Tyler Bledsoe definitely had everyone talking while walking out the theatre. Wow.
Arto Sarri got one the heaviest crowd reactions when his name appeared on screen and also took one of the gnarliest slams i’ve seen in a while right at the beginning of his part. From then on it was straight bangers.
It’s always good to see Steve Berra and Rob Dyrdek putting out parts with everything else they’ve been doing for skateboarding off the board. They were a little short but they still have it for sure.
Josh Kalis was another highlight putting out a solid part to a dope track.
Mikey Taylor had a lot of good footage and only gets better with time. Such style…
Dylan Rieder has so much talent. The way he throws down his last trick is unreal. I coulda had that one on repeat for hours…
That leaves Anthony Van Engelen and Heath. Words can’t even do these two parts justice. Everything just gets gnarlier and gnarlier as the parts go on…and how does it all end? I’ll let you wait and see what he gets towed into yourself.
And yes. Heath has last part.
