It was a dark and stormy day….. well, you have to start somewhere Snoopy would say.
Once again we were treated to a feast of great riding over the Oktoberfest competition at Balboa Pier. Big waves and cool conditions were the scene, and Victoria Skimboards had some pretty dang good results against the competition.
Congratulations go to the Pro winner, Blair Conklin, who had an amazing tough heat against Jake Stinnet. Mano a mano, riding each wave with tons of style. That was fun to watch!
The other big news was that Gerardo Valencia was declared the winner of the UST circuit, which is a huge victory! He dominated the tour, winning all over the place. GO GERARDO!
Here’s how our riders faired.
Paddy Mack advanced all the way to 4th place in the Men’s Pro. He keeps getting better!
Diana Rosa Cordova took a 3rd in the Women’s Pro. Sophia Nguyen and Casey Kiernan were 1st and 2nd.
Chance Boyer, aka, Final Chance, took 1st place in the Mens 18-21, very impressive!
Jude Young captured a 2nd in the 15-17 division, behind James Paracuellos in 1st. And he did some excellent work on the microphone.
Paul Carey grabbed his very stylish second 1st place finish of the season, in the 9-11 division.
Thank you Exile and Main Street Surf Shop for putting on a great competition.
